Brighton, Stanmer Park

If last year is anything to go by, this year’s Waggy Walk in Brighton should prove to be a great event. It was a gloriously warm sunny day, which was an extra bonus for that time of the year. As I drove in to Stanmer Park, I was overwhelmed to see so many others who had decided walking their dogs could also raise funds for Dogs Trust.

Information & Directions

The walk will start at the South Building, next to Dukes Car Park. Both are by the field leading to ‘The Great Wood & Local Nature Reserve’. There are tea rooms at Stanmer Park (slightly off the route) which are open from 9.30am to 3.30pm, so there will be some refreshments available but feel free to bring plenty of food and drink to keep you going. There will also be Dogs Trust goodies for sale and the chance to have your face painted for the walk for a small donation.

Parking and Public Transport

Enter Stanmer Park off the A27/A270 Lewes Road. Travel along the road for a few moments before entering the park, look to your immediate left and the start point will be visible. Please note parking is very limited, so please car share or use public transport. There are good links by bus or train for further info please go to buses.co.uk

Information for people with disabilities

Please be aware that the walk may not be suitable for people with limited mobility. The Waggy Walks route through Stanmer Park can be quite a bumpy route in parts and does start with a fairly steep climb that warms you up!

Please also note that the toilets on site may not be suitable for disabled use and there is no specific disabled parking.
